VITA

Simon Gesing studied law at Würzburg and Berlin with a specialisation in European and international law. In parallel, he completed studies in political science and complementary studies in European law to become a European legal expert (university of Würzburg). After his first state examination, he worked in the German parliament for a parliamentary committee.

During his legal clerkship in the district of the Berlin court of appeal, in his law practice placement Simon Gesing was already active in a law firm specialised in private construction law. After his administrative position at the Federal ministry of the Interior, he was able to consolidate his knowledge in company and product liability law in an elective internship at an international law firm in San Francisco (US).

In 2018, Simon Gesing joined the team at the Berlin location of the  Leinemann Partner law firm. Simon Gesing provides contracting authorities and contractors with legal advice on all matters concerning architectural and construction law. He especially supports general contractors with the implementation and defence of large-scale damage and warranty claims. His range of services also includes contract design,  support for projects and representation in legal proceedings.

In addition, he is specialised in procurement law. Simon Gesing provides support for contracting authorities with the conceptual design of public tenders and the execution of complex procurement processes, e.g. in the areas of IT and R&D. Furthermore, Simon Gesing offers legal advice to companies with the enforcement of bidder's rights and implements review procedures and damage claim proceedings throughout Germany.

Simon Gesing regularly publishes articles on procurement law in professional publications.
