Dr. Martin Büdenbender studied law in Trier and Münster. He completed his legal clerkship in Siegen and Cologne.During and after his legal clerkship, Dr. Martin Büdenbender worked as a research assistant at the University of Siegen in the Business Law course. He then moved to the Institute of Municipal Sciences at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster, where he primarily focused on constitutional and administrative law. Dr. Martin Büdenbender received his doctorate there for a comparative law thesis on constitutional legal protection in Europe.
Dr. Martin Büdenbender began his professional career as a lawyer in January 2003 at a Bonn law firm specialising in public procurement and private construction law. In May 2011, he joined Leinemann Partner Rechtsanwälte and has been working in our Cologne office ever since.
He specialises in public procurement law and advises clients on complex tenders in the construction, supply and services sectors. He also represents clients in public procurement review proceedings. Furthermore, Dr. Martin Büdenbender handles cases in the area of private construction law, including representing clients in court. Additionally, Dr. Martin Büdenbender has experience in antitrust and administrative law, particularly municipal, construction and waste law.
In addition to his work as a lawyer, Dr. Martin Büdenbender regularly publishes articles on public procurement law in specialist books and journals. He is a regular contributor to the “VPR” and is an active speaker at seminars and conferences on public procurement law. He also lectures at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Handelsblatt awards Dr. Martin Büdenbender the title of “Best Lawyer” in construction law and public commercial law.
Dr. Martin Büdenbender is a member of the Cologne Bar Association.
